Services provided by Common Threads Quilt Shoppe include: Baby Blankets, Burp Cloths, Longarm Machine Quilting, and Gift Certificates.

 


Baby Blankets

Simple machine quilted and hand bound blanket. Color choices for flat and bumpy sides of blanket. For the binding you may come in and choose something, or suggest a theme for Peg to be creative with. Allow 1 month for creation of this wonderful gift.

Tabby - A great gift for the little one to cuddle with. $15.00

Nappy Baby Blanket - Great for the little one to sleep with. $45.00

Receiving Baby Blanket (AKA Pookie) - Great for the little one to to be bundled into. Affectionately called a "Pookie" by Peg's granddaughters. $55.00

Color choices include: white, soft yellow, pearl, baby green, fuchsia, orange, lavender, peach, red, royal, black, baby blue, and baby pink.

Thread
There are many thread colors to choose from. This can be done when you bring the quilt to the shop.
$5.00 per quilt thread charge. If more than one thread is used, the first is free and then there is a$5,00 charge per thread change.

Binding
.20/inch. This includes making the binding, machine application of binding, and hand stitching to the back.

Preparing your quilt to be machine quilted can be done as you make the quilt.
Pressing the quilt, trimming threads, piecing the back or other similar services will be charged at a rate of $25.00 per hour with a one hour minimum. You will be notified if extra work is required, before it is done.
Proper preparation of your quilt will save you money in the end.  Your quilt will be quilted in the condition it is brought into the shop unless otherwise agreed upon.

  • Be sure you press your seams and clip all loose threads.
  • Look the quilt over and give it one last pressing when you are finished.
  • Trim selvages on your backing fabric.
  • Press seams open if you have bulky fabrics in your quilt like flannel or chenille.
  • Make the backing at least 4 - 6 inches larger, than the top, on all sides.
  • Press you backing with seams in one direction unless fabric is bulky.
  • Press your batting if you are supplying your own.
  • Do not baste or pin your quilt together.
  • NO SHEETS PLEASE
